Very Simple

This video above was made by one of Robin's good friends. Registering to be on the Bone Marrow registry is VERY easy. Go to marrow.org to find out how. It costs $50 and all they need is a cotton swab of your cheek. There's no reason not to. I know because someone was willing to do it for Robin, she got another year with Hailey and got to come to my wedding reception. I am grateful for that man.

It would have been unbearable had Robin never gotten the chance to have the transplant. It must be heartbreaking to wait for a positive match and never get one. The odds are 1 in 4 for a match with a sibling, but in the general population it is about 1 in 10,000. Overall the odds are about 4 in 10 of finding a match. Better if you're of caucasian heritage, worse if you're Asian, Hispanic, or Black simply because there are fewer ethnic people registered. If everyone were registered there would be a match somewhere in the world for virtually every living person. It is just a matter of education and encouragement. If people join the registry during a drive the $50 fee is usually waived so there is no reason not to be a donor!!

That was amazing! We are blessed that Eliza is a match for Porter if he needs a transplant, but we've met many people who are still looking for a match. Everyone should be tested!
