grown up

I went to the grocery store and when I was checking out I noticed how adult my grocery line up was. I had meat from the butcher, bread crumbs, zucchini, and an array of other ingredients, I almost didn't think it was mine because for the past three years I usually checked out with lean cuisine, lean pockets, fuji apples, and 4 cereal boxes. I started thinking about how grown-up my life has gotten lately, but then I got home and the house was set up for a ninja warrior obstacle course and bret and I spent the night talking about when we will realistically own a VW van and that there is a 90% chance we'll name one of our children sufjan. Not to mention we still get our faces painted, fall asleep every night on the couch, and eat ice cream out of the carton.


oh and today I successfully parallel parked for the first time in my life. boo ya.

3.15

To the rest of the world the middle of March is known as the "Ides of March", whatever that means, but to me it is one of the most important days of the year. This little guy, pictured below, was born and then 23 years later met me and greatly enhanced my life.


If that wasn't enough, Lindsay Rozier was also born on this blessed day. When we were kids we convinced my dad to let us become part of a group called Indian Guides, which come to think of it is a very odd organization, but at our first Pow Wow we had to be renamed indian names and Lindsay was known as Little Whip, which is oh so perfect. I think if my family did superlitives at the end of each year, Lindsay would definitly win "most generous rozier" or maybe "most kind-hearted rozier". And in case your wondering how our Indian Guide careers went, we only went to two Pow Wows until I even realized it was weird and I was about 6. We then became part of a singing group called "Sunshine Generation" and we got to wear these wonderful outfitts...



I'm grateful for 3.15. Happy Birthday BBQ and Little Whip.

Ninja Warrior

When I get back to Alameda I am getting a gym pass. I am excited about this for one reason, and reason only. I can use it to improve my strength and agility so that I can compete in the next ninja warrior, which is, by the way, the best program on television.

oh happy day.

I promise that I will not always dominate the blog, like I have been as of late. Bret's voice will be heard in the future. I also don't know how much I'll be posting due to the fact that I'm in Houston and don't have a lot of quality time with uninterrupted high speed Internet. Now that that is all cleared up, I've been able to spend a lot of time with Hailey, pictured below on the far right. Some highlights of our time together...
1. Eating duck in the backseat of the car together
2. Us getting tag team road rage and her yelling from her car seat "yeah, hey buddy, what do you think you're doing," to the car in front of us.
3. Singing off key with no exact words to tons of different kid songs
4. Eating lots and lots of frozen gogurt.


I love spending time with her and the fact that no matter how grim things are around her, she smiles and gives hugs and is always a fabulous, witty person to be with. I found this picture in my email box and while I was looking at it, I realized that this was one great day. I remember getting home from the race that Linds and I had ran and drinking insane amounts of soda while we laid on the couch with rob and Nat and loving life.
