I walked in the family room last week and found this...

I'm not really up to date on current men's fashion, but I'd really like it if all men would wear shorts just slightly (or sometimes more) above the knee.
A Story of a Girl

The facts were these. One Score and four years ago today, a little doll was brought into the world and dubbed "happy head" on the spot. This was due to a smile making itself a permanent fixture on her face. It was rumored that the sun also gave birth to a new ray that day. Some say the two births were purely coincidental, some say it was destiny. The girl grew from "happy head" to "mowgli" for reasons I will let you imagine. In her eighteenth year, after an adventure overseas, the girl met a porch-sleeping vagrant boy to whom she put a spell on. The spell not only made him infatuated with her, but also helped cure his vagrant lifestyle. They courted on and off for over three years. The off times almost caused the boy to lose his mind and slip back into his old ways. He fought with all his might to win the girl back, and in the end, by unseen miracles, he was able to do so. Needless to say, the boy is very glad that twenty-four years ago today the girl was born.
Personal Holiday
On my 22nd birthday I got a card from my sister that said:
"I take back all the mean things I thought and said when I found out mom was pregnant with you".
I may or may not look like a boy

I like constant change. I also like taking pictures of myself doing the robot. Tonight these worlds collided
Oh life
I love when you're on a walk and you come across a mystical swing. Wouldn't you say that the only way to describe that is mystical? Maybe "childlike splendor" could be worked into that sentence somewhere too.

Bret, Baby Huey Pumpkin, and I would like to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. (Baby Huey pumpkin is much cuter in person, so cute he deserved a name).

While looking through some pictures recently I came to the conclusion that I would have made an excellent twin.

Pointless Story #2
Recently I watched through my bedroom window as my neighbors turned their front yard into a pumpkin patch of sorts. This made me reflect on a series of pictures taken of me and my kindergarten class as we took a field trip to the pumpkin patch back in 1990. These pictures are what you would imagine, a bunch of kids on a hay wagon, one crying others giggling, some pictures of kids with huge pumpkins, etc. Looking back on it, the only thing odd about the pictures is that I'm dressed as a scarecrow. No one else in the class is dressed as a scarecrow or in any costume being that it was October 12th or something. I can't imagine that my teacher had a sign up sheet for one of us to be a pumpkin patch mascot for the day nor can I imagine my 4 year old self signing up for the task. So what this must mean is that when my mom read, "appropriate pumpkin patch attire", which probably meant an extra sweater and closed toe shoes, she took it as, "dress up as if you are a part of the pumpkin patch". So there I stood amongst my fellow 5 year olds with a flannel shirt stuffed with hay, a straw hat, and patch work pants. Oh, and my face painted as a scarecrow. I wish I could see my teachers expression as we filed in the door that day, 28 kids and one scarecrow.
