The San Francisco Treat

I think the best thing about the city is the ridiculous amount of parades, specialty stores/restaurants, and museums. Here are some pics of us enjoying all three...

Happy V-Day?

Bret and I have been talking about President's Day and the three day weekend for about 2 months now and all the possibilities of things we could do. We then realized that Valentines day was the same weekend and I went wild with possible plans... camping! biking in Healdsburg! biking in Golden Gate park! Santa Cruz beach board walk! find a parade! hike at Big Sur! Oh the possibilities! And then the floor dropped out from under us, it is going to rain alllllll weekend long. What the?

Now we're at a lost, what are we supposed to do if the weather is bad? I've already decorated the house in Kindergarten like Valentine's decorations and exhausted all of my baking. If you have any ideas, please, do tell.

Pointless Story

Bret and I don't argue very much. Pretty much never. This isn't because we don't get mad, ohhh we get MAD, it's because we're both very passive and get very nervous in contentious situations. So we avoid them at all costs. This probably will be detrimental later in our marriage, but right now it's working out fine. However, we had an argument Saturday night, the cause: Thrifty Chocolate Malt Ball Crunch ice cream. Here's how things went down:

3:30pm- Bret and I are in San Jose and we see a RiteAid, we had a conversation about a month ago about how much we would give for the chocolate malt ball crunch ice cream of our youth. I remember this conversation and tell Bret, "PULL IN! PULL IN!". We run in, and their freezer section is empty.
5:20pm- We get home and Bret tells me to find the nearest RiteAid and call to inquire about the ice cream situation. I call, VICTORY, the Oakland store has it, however they close at 6:00pm. We don't talk, we run to the car.
5:40pm- We start getting close to the riteaid and we see some commotion going on. Bret hands me money and tells me to jump out as soon as I get the chance and he'll circle the block. Neither of us have our cell phones, so I get a little nervous when I see that the commotion is 20 police officers all surrounding the RiteAid. We get close and bret tells me to hop out. I get nervous, real nervous. For all I know it's a hostage situation inside, I mean this is Oakland. So I freeze and bret is forced to keep driving, and the fight ensues...

Bret: "GET OUT OF THE CAR"
Whit: "JUST PARK, JUST PARK"
Bret: "There's nowwwhheerree to park, what do you want me to do?"

I start pointing and yelling, probably something like "This will work, just pull over". By this time we're about 7 blocks from the Rite Aid. Finally I yell, "PULL OVER AND GET OUT, YOU GET IT". Bret gets out of the car and starts walking to Rite Aid.

I circle the hood starting to get scared of what might be happening and imagining myself as a 23 year old widow because my husband was shot in Oakland trying to get ice cream and the last thing I said to him was "GET OUT". These thoughts were probably a little exaggerated, but trust me, you would have been thinking the same thing.

Finally I get to the block Rite Aid is on and I see a bike gang of probably 10-12 bikers all parked in front of the 20 police men, I have no clue what is going on, but I pushed my back against the seat of the car (just in case there was a stray bullet, it wouldn't hit me). Then I see Bret standing on the side walk. Empty handed.

RiteAid decided to close at 5:45pm not 6:00pm.

rozier women go to the grocery store a lot.

Today at the grocery store, I saw a beautiful woman with skinny, skinny legs and a bald head.
Today at the grocery store, I wished I was with my beautiful sister with skinny, skinny legs and a bald head.

I did it.

After months of flat, hard bread and pizza dough, I did it (well, not really me, mon pack might have guided me through every step). I had to share my joy.

reunited...

Bret got home at midnight on Friday from being in Pittsburgh all week. We decided to have a San Francisco extravaganza to celebrate his triumphant return. The extravaganza included a couple of things like Mexican wrestling masks and dynamo donuts (which are NOT good, do not be deceived by their fancy logo or their high rating on the internet, they have flavors like "pistachio lemon", "spicy chocolate", and "orange vanilla glaze" all of which sounded interesting to us, however they were a disappointment and we will stick to our Lee's for high quality donuts).

We also walked through neighborhoods I had never been to, ate Mexican food after our disappointing donuts- please note the pic of Bret wrapping up our leftover donut in the Mexican restaurant because we of course couldnt throw it away, so I saved it in my purse, which reminds me, it's still in there.

We both also wore our horse attire, me in a horse dress, bret in a horse sweatshirt. I don't even know how we both have horse print clothing, but we should probably acquire more if we want to get weird. Actually the horse sweatshirt is a hand-me-down from Hudd, thank you hudd, that sweatshirt has brought joy into both of our lives.

It was 70 degrees and sunny

in January.

Although half disgusting, this little banana slug is kind of cute. We were tempted to bring him home, but after some deliberation we realized that our 900 square feet is already a little cramped with me, bret, and ted.

there might have been a sale on Special K...

I might have bought 35 boxes of it, came home and made it into a fort.
